Trump Teases “Very Big Announcement” on November 15 at Ohio Rally

Former President Donald Trump teased a major announcement later this month amid speculation that he plans to announce a third presidential run, Politico reports.

Trump teased the announcement during a rally in Ohio on behalf of Senate candidate J.D. Vance and other Republicans.

“I’m going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, Nov. 15,” he said, adding that the announcement would come at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

Trump has repeatedly hinted at another presidential run but reports say that Republicans have urged against it over concerns that it could hurt midterm candidates.

“We want nothing to detract from the importance of tomorrow. You understand that,” Trump said Monday.

Pushback:

Trump’s comments on Monday “prompted a chain of phone calls from party leaders who have tried for months to keep Trump from announcing until after the midterms, according to The Washington Post.

Trump reportedly wanted to announce his presidential run on Monday but was dissuaded by advisers.

"It just boggles the mind why [Trump] would hand that to Democrats at this late hour," a Republican strategist told the Post. "Making the conversation about himself and risking losses across the map that otherwise might have been wins would be a bad way to two-step into a presidential race."

DeSantis warning:

Trump has increasingly been frustrated with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who could challenge him for the GOP nomination.

Trump held a separate rally over the weekend and his lawyer on Monday issued a warning to the governor.

“DeSantis is DeSantis because of Trump,” Trump lawyer Alina Habba said at Trump’s rally. “He needs to stay in Florida.”

Trump over the weekend hit out at the governor, calling him “Ron DeSanctiminous.”
