Trump Slams Mitch McConnell to Republicans After He Acknowledged Biden’s Win

President Donald Trump lashed at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell after he acknowledged President-elect Joe Biden’s victory last week, Axios reports.

Trump sent Congressional Republicans an email including a slide criticizing McConnell and taking credit for his election win.

The slide shows a timeline of McConnell’s race against Democrat Amy McGrath and a spike in McConnell’s popularity after Trump touted his campaign and made robocalls to constituents.

"Sadly Mitch forgot! He was the first one off the ship," the slide said.

The comments came after McConnell congratulated Biden and warned Senate Republicans against trying to protest the Electoral College results.

Trump turns on Pence, too:

Trump has also reportedly turned on Vice President Mike Pence, chief of staff Mark Meadows, White House counsel Pat Cipollone, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, according to the report.

Trump thinks “everyone around him is weak, stupid or disloyal,” the outlet reported, adding that Trump is increasingly seeking “comfort only in people who egg him on to overturn the election results.”

“We cannot stress enough how unnerved Trump officials are by the conversations unfolding inside the White House,” wrote Axios’ Jonathan Swan.

Trump is effectively upset with anyone who does not support the use of the military or Department of Homeland Security seizing voting machines.

Lincoln Project ad “got in his head”:

Trump has complained about a Lincoln Project ad that claims that Pence is “backing away” from Trump, which “clearly got inside Trump’s head,” according to the report.

Trump believes Pence is not fighting hard enough for him.

Trump would consider Pence presiding over next month’s affirmation of the Electoral College results “the ultimate betrayal.”
