President Joe Biden was caught on a hot mic on Wednesday while traveling to Florida to survey the damage from Hurricane Ian, Mediaite reports.
A hot mic caught Biden’s exchange with Fort Myers Beach Mayor Ray Murphy.
“Thanks for coming down, we really appreciate it. You keep the faith,” Murphy told the president.
“By the way, you’re raised the same way I was, no one fucks with a Biden,” Biden said.
“You’re goddamn right,” Murphy replied.
“And you can’t argue with your brothers outside the house,” Biden added.
White House embraces:
Some administration officials quickly embraced the hot mic moment.
White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates posted a “dark Brandon” meme while sharing the clip.
“ROLL CREDITS,” State Department official Megan Bates-Apper commented on the clip.
“Not a joke!” she added in another tweet.
Biden’s “potty mouth”:
Politico last year detailed Biden’s private penchant for having a “potty mouth.”
Biden has been known to pipe in during meetings with comments along the lines of “Fuck them,” “What the fuck are we doing?” “Why the fuck isn’t this happening?” “bullshit,” “dammit,” or just simply: “fuck,” according to Politico.
But Biden is also self-aware.
“He’s from a different generation but if there's people that are younger than him, especially women, he feels like, ‘Hey, how would I feel if I was cussing around my daughter or my granddaughter?’” a former aide told Politico. “You don't cuss in front of women and children.”
