Police Kneel, Hug Protesters in Several Cities -- But Peace is Fragile

In a break from wall-to-wall police violence and protesting, some officers across the country were seen holding moments of solidarity with protesters marching over the death of George Floyd.

Police in Atlanta were seen kneeling with their shields on Monday.

Crowds of protesters cheered when police in Portland did the same.

Similar images were seen in Des Moines, Iowa.

And other cities as well.

In other instances, police were seen marching with protesters, as was the case in Denver.

And Camden, New Jersey.

Some officers even embraced protesters.

Some cops gassed protesters anyway:

In some cases, the peace did not hold.
