Fox Hosts Think Ocasio-Cortez Wants People to Eat ‘Animals From The Zoo,’ Because Socialism

Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, the Fox Nation hosts known better as “Diamond and Silk,” used their platform to suggest that self-declared Democratic-Socialist New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants people to start eating zoo animals.

On their Tuesday show on Fox News’ digital platform, the two hosts complained that “everyone in the media seems to be gushing” over Ocasio-Cortez.

“But the A.O.C. is not an inspiration to me,” Hardaway said. “She is a danger to the American dream, a hazard to our democracy and her incompetence causes uncertainty to millions of Americans and even our core values.”

“Everything she say [sic] is mindless, foolish and brainless. All for us to end up looking worse than Venezuela,” she continued. “So, I wonder, do [sic] she want us eating animals from the zoo?”

It’s unclear what Hardaway was referring to but there was one report from Reuters two years ago that police thought maybe someone stole zoo animals to eat them. To be clear, the citizens of Venezuela do not eat zoo animals.

“Here’s what you don’t seem to understand,” Hardaway continued. “If everyone gets in the wagon, who’s going to pull it? If everyone is drunk on your ideas, who’s going to be the designated driver? If everyone thought the same, we wouldn’t go get an education.”

“If you don’t believe us, you go ask the citizens in Venezuela,” she added, again referring to people who do not eat zoo animals and are protesting their current president en masse in favor of the Trump-backed would-be replacement.

What makes AOC so radical?:

The most prominent positions Ocasio-Cortez has taken have given Republicans fits but really aren’t all that radical to begin with.

Ocasio-Cortez called for top marginal income rates on income earned over the first $10 million to be taxed at 70 percent. While that may be higher than it’s been the last few decades, it is considerably lower than top tax rates were on people earning hundreds of thousands throughout the 1900s. In 1945, the top tax rate was 91%. In 1964, the top tax rate was 70%. In 1982, even after Reagan took over, the top tax rate was at 50%.

Ocasio-Cortez has also called for Medicare for All. While the details of how to pay for it are certainly left to be determined, the move is not radical, it would allow the United States to be the last entrant into the world of industrialized nations, all of whom already have universal healthcare in one form or another.

She also backs the Green New Deal, a sweeping set of policy proposals aimed at combating climate change and rampant inequality. These plans are only radical if you disregard scientists’ warnings on the dire immediately effects of climate change and ignore the fact that workers in the richest country in the world are forced to go on food stamps and wear diapers at work because they aren’t allowed to use the bathroom while 26 people have as much wealth as 3.8 billion people.
