Far-Right Troll Jacob Wohl Tried to Stage Fake Protest Against His Own Press Conference

Far-right pro-Trump troll Jacob Wohl appears to have staged a fake protest against his own news conference, The Daily Beast reports.

Wohl and his buddy, Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman, announced that they would hold a Wednesday press conference at Burkman’s Virginia home to continue to push their already debunked sexual assault smear against Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg.

On Monday, Burkman tweeted a link to an Eventbrite page for a “Protest Against Homophobic Bigots,” which Burkman claimed was being used to organize a protest and their news conference.

“Hundreds of leftist protestors are set to descend on our Wednesday Press conference,” Burkman wrote. “We WILL NOT surrender to the mob! We’ve called in extra security to guard our safety and that of our partners in the media.”

The Daily Beast notes that it was the first Twitter mention of the page on Twitter. Reporter Justin Duckham soon noticed that the organizer for the page used an email address used by Wohl: [email protected].

Wohl laughably denies responsibility:

Despite an email address that Wohl has used being used to create the page, Wohl denied responsibility just as he did for his failed attempt to push false sexual misconduct allegations against special counsel Bob Mueller and just as he did when he got busted faking death threats against himself.

“I’ve never used Eventbrite in my life,” Wohl told The Daily Beast. “It was created by a troll.”

The page was later deleted by Eventbrite.

“We take the issue of inauthentic content very seriously and our policy is to remove it when we become aware of it,” a company spokesperson said in a statement. “Upon review of this event, we determined it to be in violation and have taken it off our platform and terminated this account.”
