Man Who Says Kevin Spacey Groped Him Drops Civil Lawsuit as Criminal Case Moves Forward

A man who accused actor Kevin Spacey of groping him at a Massachusetts bar dropped his civil lawsuit just over a week after filing it, MassLive reports.

Spacey was accused by the man of groping him while he was an 18-year-old busboy at a Nantucket bar in July 2016. The man filed a civil lawsuit against the actor on June 26, alleging that Spacey bought him “multiple alcoholic beverages” before groping his genitals.

The suit accused Spacey of explicit sexual behavior and infliction of mental distress and sought payment for costs, interests, and attorney fees.

The accuser’s attorney, Mitchell Garabedian, told MassLive that the man voluntarily dropped the suit and did not comment further. He did not say whether the suit was dropped as the result of a settlement.

Criminal case continues:

Although the civil suit was dropped within a matter of days, Spacey still faces criminal charges of indecent assault and battery in the incident.

The actor pleaded not guilty in the case.

Spacey was arraigned on the charges in January after former Boston news anchor Heather Unruh reported that her son had been groped by the actor at the bar where he worked.

The allegations were investigated by the state police, which eventually brought charges against the former “House of Cards” star,” MassLive reported.

According to the accuser, Spacey urged him to stop texting his girlfriend and began to run his thigh before unzipping the teen’s pants and groping him inside the bar.

In text messages shared with the police, the teen reportedly wrote to his girlfriend, “He’s gay,” “He’s buying me yet another drink,” “Help me,” and “I’m drunk.”

Spacey is accused of sexual misconduct by over a dozen men:

The allegations against Spacey came as more than a dozen men accused the actor of sexual misconduct spanning decades.

“Star Trek: Discovery” actor Anthony Rapp alleged that Spacey made sexual advances toward him in 1986, when Rapp was just 14 years old.

Fourteen other men accused Spacey of various types of misconduct, from groping and sexual advances to attempted rape.

Spacey has denied the allegations and made this completely bizarre video, apparently in character as Frank Underwood from “House of Cards”:
