Trump Threatens End Of GOP "Bailouts" On Healthcare

Congress’ inability to repeal and replace Obamacare over the past few weeks has been nothing short of utterly disgraceful. For weeks, Republicans stalled and refused to work with one another to engender the necessary compromise and progress. Staunch conservatives were unable to please moderates and vice versa. While some Congress members viewed the healthcare proposals as a full repeal of Obamacare, others perceived the proposals as “Obamacare Lite.” Regardless, Republicans had time after time to repeal and replace the ACA, yet they have consistently failed. From the inception of the attempt to repeal Obamacare, Democrats expressed their unwillingness to support this legislation in any manner. However, as a result of the GOP’s inability to work together, reports from Real Time Politics indicate that both Democrats and Republicans are currently working on a bill to heighten Obamacare’s regulations.

Many theories as to why Republicans have been unable to repeal a bill which they complained about for nearly a decade have surfaced. Some people believe Congress does not really care about the countless plights associated with Obamacare since their bailouts grant them exemption from the ACA’s mandates. However, others believe Republicans’ failure to do away with Obamacare might have darker reasons. Since the dawn of President Trump’s time in office, rumors about the deep state have surfaced. Many people believe the GOP has been either paid off or blackmailed by deep state operatives into not repealing or replacing Obamacare. After all, most Americans are aware that much more happens behind the scenes than is reported.

Deep state infiltration becomes more and more plausible when people take a closer look at the history of Republicans in Congress. Why were they able to get bill after bill to repeal the ACA on President Obama’s desk when they knew he would veto it? Obviously, Obama was never going to sign a bill into law which would dismantle a healthcare plan that he created. The GOP was very much aware of this, yet securing the votes was never an issue at that point in time.

Since President Trump is in office, and has clearly expressed his eagerness to eliminate Obamacare once and for all, Republicans, all of a sudden, cannot secure the necessary votes. It is almost as if they do not truly want to repeal the ACA. If the GOP was serious about getting rid of Obamacare, if they truly viewed the matter as a high priority, they would have drafted a bill, attained the needed votes, and gotten the bill on President Trump’s desk. Their failure to do so merely speaks to their unwillingness to follow through on promises to the American people. Republicans who have failed to repeal Obamacare should be removed from office and replaced by officials who cannot be manipulated or bought out by the deep state.

Despite Republicans’ failure to repeal Obamacare and Congress’ new bipartisan bill to enhance Obamacare, all hope is not lost. According to reports from Young Conservatives, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul took the liberty of advising President Trump on ways he could employ executive orders to reverse some of the negative offshoots of Obamacare. Paul has suggested the use of Association Health Plans (AHPs) which would allow for Americans and small businesses to join forces and purchase cheaper healthcare alternatives through certain membership programs.

Likewise, President Trump is also cracking down on Congress. Last Saturday, the Commander in Chief announced via Twitter that if Congress does not get a healthcare bill approved, their bailout privileges will be revoked effective immediately, as will bailouts for insurance companies. Quite frankly, this mandate should occur whether Congress repeals Obamacare or not. If elected officials were obligated to live under the same laws they enact for the American people, perhaps they would be more careful. As of now, Congress has no real incentive to get rid of Obamacare. They are not affected by the rising premiums and unaffordable costs due to Congressional exemptions. This needs to change. To truly drain the swamp, everyone must live under the same rules and laws.

However, in spite of warnings from the President, Congress does not seem motivated to repeal and replace Obamacare. Instead, all they have are more excuses. According to The Hill, Utah Republican Orrin Hatch believes the GOP is not united enough to successfully work together and accumulate the necessary votes to repeal Obamacare. His public statements are as follows:

There’s just too much animosity and we're too divided on healthcare. We always have a few guys on our side that just won’t cooperate.

This is pathetic and Hatch ought to be ashamed of himself. If Democrats had control of the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives, they would pass countless laws. Why are Republicans so unable to work together? Perhaps those who currently hold Congressional seats are unfit to do. This is what Hatch is indirectly stating whether he realizes it or not. Republicans were elected to enact changes desired by the American people. To simply claim we’re too divided is unacceptable and cannot stand.

If the current bipartisan bill meant to enhance Obamacare comes to fruition, it will severely hurt Americans, Republicans, and President Trump when he runs for re-election in 2020. Republicans’ complaints about Obamacare and their inability to repeal it, as promised, speaks volumes. The American people will not forget. The deep state is obviously pulling strings for Obamacare to remain in place, but hopefully, Rand Paul will be able to work with President Trump to engender some desirable alternatives to Obamacare. Hopefully, the President will also revoke all bailout opportunities for insurance companies and members of Congress, as a result of their colossal failures. If the American people are forced to live with Obamacare, our lawmakers should be required to do the same.
