Progressivism Is Built On Hate And Intimidation

“The old civilizations claimed that they were founded on love or justice. Ours is founded upon hatred. In our world there will be no emotions except fear, rage, triumph, and self-abasement.”

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Sounds a lot like the kind of thing going on around the world right now. As a wave of nationalism and patriotism is sweeping many parts of the Western world, we are seeing a reaction from groups that seem to be threatened by it.

You have to wonder about a movement that masks themselves in frightening black clothing and masks (clothing they bought at stores thanks to capitalism, by the way). In response to Donald Trump, Brexit, and other pro-nationalism movements in Europe, the left has been lashing out in violent and disturbing ways.

Despite the fact that we are faced daily with proof that their policies do not work (re: Manchester bombing or the crisis in Sweden), they continue to double down on the ideology that is creating more problems than solutions.

But thanks to unabashed patriots like President Trump, we see the left’s true colors exposed. They are not cheery hippies, working hard to bring equality and “progress” to our societies. They are violent revolutionaries, in the tradition of Stalin and Lenin, bent on disrupting our culture, laws, and ways of life. Their end goal is to transform our countries—into something darker and evil.

The quote at the top was not from a conservative blog, by the way, but 1984.

Recently the left has referenced the classic book, as a warning about Trump. But nothing Trump has done or plans to do resembles the horribly authoritarian society of Big Brother, whose government was called “Ingsoc” or English Socialism.

Instead, we are seeing die-hard leftists, so-called champions of progress and liberalism, acting out of hatred. In 2017 the United States has suffered significant violence, not from radical Islamic terrorists, but by domestic, left wing radicals who act like terrorists.

Be honest: which side has been silencing speech, burning schools and cities, spewing hatred for those that are different than themselves, and spreading fear and hysteria? It’s not the conservatives.

All those things are out of the liberals’ playbook. But why?

Isn’t classical liberalism about making sure everyone in our free society can enjoy our freedoms? Isn’t the goal of the left to make sure nobody is oppressed, subjugated, or prevented from enjoying life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

Once upon a time that might have been true. But today’s liberals are about one thing: destroying everything that makes us who we are.

It’s true in America and everywhere else in the West. But I’ll focus on the United States, the last beacon of true freedom and hope in our dark world (thanks to Trump).

You see, most of us gentle conservatives believe America is great because of our traditions, largely thanks to the foundation of our country: faith in God and the Constitution. Both go hand in hand. Our Founding Fathers crafted a government tailor-made to prevent tyranny, and added a Bill of Rights so that the people’s freedoms—religious and otherwise—were preserved.

The belief they held to was that God endowed us with certain rights. No matter who you are, where you live, or what era you lived in, those rights are always yours. They crafted a government that acknowledged that and strove to preserve those rights.

Conservatives—much like the Founding Fathers—believe this to be true, regardless of what country you live in. The Constitution was written simply to protect this truth. Because of that, conservatives believe in preserving that idea and the freedoms laid down in our laws. Everything good in our society—economic opportunity, education, safety from crime and war, etc.—flows from that.

Even times of progress and change—such as the Abolition Movement, Suffrage Movement, and Civil Rights—were possible because of the freedoms preserved by our Founding Fathers.

But I have to enlighten anyone confused about the left. They don’t think America is great because of our traditions—the very traditions that give us free speech and other liberties. They think something is wrong with America.

They believe the Founding Fathers were evil, because they were white, cis males, who owned slaves. They point to all the flaws of our early history as proof America was built on injustices and evils. They ignore the virtues of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, only acknowledging the mistakes.

Progressives think America—and Western traditions—are a problem that needs to be solved. They think that our country’s history, culture, values, and faith—are evils that need to be erased.

Why do you think they fight so hard to remove the Confederate flag or statues of Confederate leaders? It’s not because they are reminders of slavery. Slavery is gone. It’s not coming back. The Stars and Bars are often associated with slavery because they were crafted during that time. But they mean a whole lot more to Americans in the South than just that. They are a reminder of a very significant time in our history; a time that should not be forgotten.

As the adage goes: those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

Yet liberals have a sick fascination with ignoring or rewriting history. Much the same way Ingsoc did through the Ministry of Truth in 1984. They want to craft their own version of history, to manipulate anyone ignorant of the facts. Yet if we ignore something as significant as the Civil War—and the brave men and women who fought to end slavery and reunite the nation—we lose a part of ourselves.

And I doubt very much those liberals respect the Northern heroes of the war—you know, because they were white, cis men.

If you re-read the quote at the top, you will see just how liberals use fear, rage, and self-abasement to destroy our society. They don’t want freedom; they want a centralized government that metes out social justice and redistribution of wealth. Instead of minorities reaching success by working hard and owning their freedoms—they want a government that oppresses certain groups, in favor of others.

The great irony, of course, is that in time, all groups will become oppressed.

Think you’ll be okay if you’re a black man? In a Socialist society, that’s not enough. A black woman will have more rights than you. Then a black, gay woman. Then a black, gay, Muslim woman. There will always be another faction of society that will have a greater claim than you. And soon enough, you will find yourself a part of the oppressed majority.

Liberals have spread fear to win their cause—fear of cops, white people, the rich, and the President. Right after the election, Muslims, gays, and immigrants were terrified. Why? Because Trump had promised to march them off to internment camps? No, because liberal outlets lied in order to spread fear. Some actually believed that Trump was going to persecute gays—despite his open support for the LGBT community.

The rage is obvious. Globalists have manipulated ignorant youth to support Socialism and Communism over our free market societies. People gathered in Hamburg and Berkeley—dressed in black clothes they bought at Walmart—to riot, burn buildings and cars, beat citizens, and fight the police. Why? Because they think Socialism is so much better? Because capitalism has hurt them so much? No, because leftists frothed them into a rage.

What about self-abasement? This is the oddest and most disgusting tactic of the modern left. As liberals, they seem to need to apologize for their society. They have been programmed to ignore all the good America and the West has achieved—say, for instance, shaping the modern world—and to focus on the wrongs committed in the past.
