How the Mighty Have Fallen: The Left's Refusal To Change Spells Its Doom

Conspiracy

Win Donald Trump's shocking, incredible, historic, and amazing win over Democratic demigod Hillary Clinton, the left seem to be scrambling. They don't understand how a man with zero political experience could defeat a longtime politician who’s been in Washington for over thirty years.

Now if you look at the above sentence and you're a regular American, you understand pretty thoroughly why Trump had the advantage. The things the left observed as detriments to his campaign were viewed as advantages in the eyes of regular Americans. Now more than ever America wants to reform what they believe is a corrupt political system that benefits wealthy special interests and politicians, not the rest of us.

Also, Hillary Clinton is a criminal that has been generally disliked for most of her career.

I can go over, ad nauseum, the many additional reasons why Donald Trump won. I can explain how he was even able to flip longtime blue states into red ones. I can even revel in how this victory upset decades of established political science, polling, and expectations. But who wants to hear all that?

No, instead I want to talk about the Democrats historic panic in the aftermath of the election and how their very reaction to Trump's win explains why they are a sad shadow of the party they once were.

First, let's look at some recent news.

Jess McIntosh, former Clinton campaign communications outreach director, has blamed her team’s election loss on women with “internalized misogyny” who couldn’t bear to elect a female candidate.

McIntosh appeared on MSNBC on Monday. When host Chris Hayes asked her why Clinton fared only a point better among white female voters than Obama did in 2012, McIntosh said the following:

“Internalized misogyny is a real thing and this is a thing we have to be talking about.”

She continued, “It seems to be white college-educated women. We have work to do talking to those women about what happened this year and why, why, why we would vote against our self-interests.” (via Milo)

"Internalized misogyny." If you feel like you're taking crazy pills, you're not alone. It appears that the left's greatest talent these days is to invent problems that need correcting.

What the hell is internalized misogyny? Does McIntosh really believe that a huge portion of educated, white women hate themselves? That they voted for Trump out of some kind of personal sexism? Is she really so stupid that she refuses to acknowledge that these women simply didn't like Hillary Clinton?

A woman who, by the way, defended her husband after numerous rape allegations by attacking the victims. A woman who, reports say, ranted and screamed when she realized she lost the election, throwing everything that wasn't nailed down at her people?

Yet women who don't like her hate themselves?

I know that those of you with common sense will agree with me that McIntosh is just inventing excuses. Even after the loss, she and many others are trying to defend one of the weakest, most unlikeable candidates in American history.

Hillary Clinton didn't lose because America is sexist. She didn't lose because America is racist (still puzzling out how not voting for a white woman is racist). She lost because she was the worst candidate to choose from. She had a laundry list of problems, from her email scandal, FBI investigations, questions about her health, radical immigration policies, and possible connections to voter fraud.

Meanwhile, Trump was promising economic prosperity. You do the math.

But the left continues to ignore the reality that is plainly in front of them. We saw it throughout the election. Trump won big during the primaries, setting records from state to state. He consistently packed rallies across the country.  There was an excitement and energy in his supporters that Hillary could not match. And of course, he said things no politician ever said, to the point that even Michael Moore predicted his win (even though he hates Trump).

Once upon a time, the Democratic Party was a group that stood for change. Leaders like John F Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. inspired generations young and old. They believed that American values and freedoms could bring about a nation free of discrimination, full of prosperity, and void of the destructive policies of our Communist enemies. Martin Luther King, even said this:

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

But today, many within the Democratic Party, or those endorsed by liberals, have rhetoric that sounds nothing like this.

"White Americans have created the conditions that require a phrase like ‘Black Likes Matter.’…Do you know how horrific it is to grow up as a child in a world that so hates you? While you’re literally being gunned down in the street, while you’re being rounded up and mass incarcerated and forced into prison slavery." (via Breitbart)

The above was said by Marissa Jenae Johnson, co-founder of the Seattle chapter of Black Lives Matter. Contrast her destructive rhetoric with that of King's. While Martin Luther King, a man who grew up under actual discrimination and hatred, managed to believe in equality and unity, a woman like Johnson is spreading destructive and divisive rhetoric aimed at turning black people against white people.

But maybe this woman is right. Maybe America is as hateful and racist as she says. The facts just don't seem to confirm her words.

Thus Black Lives Matter and other progressive voices describe America as a “white supremacist nation.” This accusation is made against a country that outlaws racial discrimination, that has twice elected a black president, has recently had a black four-star general head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, two black secretaries of state, three black national security advisors and two successive black attorney generals along with thousands of black elected officials, mayors, police chiefs and congressmen.

The statement that 2016 America is a “white supremacist” nation is not only the reflection of a deranged hatred for whites, but an act of hostility towards black America, whose opportunities and rights in this country are greater than in any other under the sun, including every African nation and Caribbean country governed by blacks for hundreds and even thousands of years. (via Breitbart)

Once Democrats championed men like King, who strived- to the point of death- for unity between black and white Americans. Now the modern left embraces ideas that turn black people against white, women against men, gays against heterosexuals, and Muslims against Jews and Christians. It is a pathetic and empty tactic that will ultimately lead to the death of our nation.

This is why the left is losing. They have rejected facts and truth for a scheme that turns Americans against each other. They have long ago abandoned the virtues of Kennedy who said, "Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country," into a party that wants to infantilize the populace through government handouts.

They no longer reflect American values or even American freedoms. They have sold out whatever beliefs they had to gain more dishonest power in our society. Finally, they are losing, but the question remains: will they see the error of their ways before it's too late?

Perhaps not.
