California Is Stupid: Calexit Will Never Succeed

Since it's Friday and I am waiting for the weekend to cover today's March for Life in D.C., I thought I'd take some time to indulge in a little levity.

With the election of Donald Trump as the 45 President of the United States, we've seen considerable backlash and outrage from hardcore, dyed-in-the-wool liberals. While I assert the vast majority of Americans want to move on with their lives- hoping to see what Trump can accomplish- there is this segment of bitter losers, who refuse to relent.

Unlike conservatives who, in 2008 and 2012, accepted the results of the election and acknowledged Barack Obama as our president, the strident cry of many liberals is that Donald Trump is not their president.

(Yes I am aware that there were dummy's that said the same about Obama. That was a small segment, not representative of our leaders or the majority of conservatives. Grow up.)

This stigma of bitterness has infected much of the Democratic base, or at least its loudest proponents, to such a degree that the headquarters of darkness and stupidity- California- is contemplating leaving the United States of America.

No, this is not some cheesy TNT movie, this is actually happening. A few crackpots in the dumbest state in the Union have successfully earned approval to seek signatures to add this to the 2018 ballot. If they get enough signatures, Californians can vote to leave the United States.

California Secretary of State Alex Padilla announced Thursday that a ballot initiative called “California Nation” has been approved by the state to begin collecting signatures to qualify for the 2018 ballot. (via Breitbart)

They even did a convincing-looking poll on Twitter, you know the authority for facts and accuracy, that shows many people are in favor of California leaving.

As of this writing, over 15,000 people voted in the Twitter poll. Not enough to secure secession (that will require at least 50 percent of Californians voting at 55 percent voting to leave); we don't even know how many of those Twitter voters are Californian citizens.

But still, they coerce the state's Attorney General to draft this measure:

CALIFORNIA NATIONHOOD. INITIATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT AND STATUTE. Repeals provision in California Constitution stating California is an inseparable part of the United States and that the United States Constitution is the supreme law of the land. Places question of whether California should become a separate country on a future ballot. Treats result of such future vote as declaration of independence from the United States if 50 percent of registered voters participate and 55 percent of those voting approve.

But is it possible? Will the largest state (population-wise) really leave the United States? Will they form their own hyper-liberal government, opposing the current U.S. administration, perhaps encouraging other states to leave or even spark a...gasp Civil War!?

Not likely.

While I've never been to California, I do work with a number of people from the San Francisco/Bay Area, considered the "belly of the beast" for liberal dogma. I consider my colleagues intelligent, decent people, for whom I have the highest respect (I wouldn't work with anyone less). If they are indicative of the rest of the state, we have nothing to worry about. The sound-minded, hard-working, good-natured (albeit largely liberal) public of CA will knock down something as stupid as secession.

But what's really behind this movement? Much like Jill Stein's ill-fated recount effort, perhaps this is being constructed by nefarious agents, looking to exploit liberal bitterness for their own profit.

Left-wing Californians who want California to secede from the United States in the wake of the 2016 elections might be surprised to know their movement is supported by Russia and the administration of President Vladimir Putin.

According to a report by Bloomberg, #CalExit founder Louis Marinelli — a disgruntled Trump voter and former same-sex marriage opponent who switched sides — is now looking to team up with Putin and leftist anti-American radicals in Russia. (via Breitbart)

Say WHAT!? The man leading the charge to destroy California (which will be the inevitable outcome of secession), is backed by Russia. Much like other liberal movements, dark forces are manipulating well-meaning, yet emotionally-driven Americans to accomplish some nebulous goal. Most likely a destabilizing of the United States.

I find it the height of hypocrisy that liberals claimed Russia "hacked" our election to get Trump in the White House- in an effort for destabilized our democracy- when they are willfully working with Russia to destabilize us in a very real way. Losing one of our states is a prime example of weakening America. We'd lose the cooperation, representation, and strength of one of our largest states.

Rivals in Russia would love nothing more than that.

What's most shocking is the fact that the culprits behind this move to cede California from the U.S. DON'T EVEN LIVE IN AMERICA.

An expatriate living in Russia, Marinelli is running “Yes California,” the organization that leads the effort to put secession on the California ballot. He is married to a Russian woman who is struggling to immigrate to the U.S., and so he currently lives in Yekaterinburg, Russia’s fourth-largest city, on the Siberian side of the Ural Mountains — about as far as you can get from L.A. (via Breitbart)

So why does a man, who left the United States and is preparing a "Californian Embassy" in Russia, want to force the state to leave the Union? Perhaps he sees himself as taking over this embassy; the first ambassador of the Nation of California. Maybe he thinks this will bring him prestige among the frozen souls of Siberia.

Maybe he's just trying to win back mommy and daddy's approval.

Even the Attorney General of California has doubts over the fiscal fallout of such a move, as noted in the measure:

The fiscal impact of this measure is dependent on various factors, including a vote by the people on this measure, a subsequent vote on California independence, possible legal challenges, and implementation issues. Assuming that California actually became an independent nation, the state and its local governments would experience major, but unknown, budgetary impacts. This measure also would result in tens of millions of dollars of one-time state and local election costs.

Yeah, millions of dollars just to secede; not to mention the many millions of U.S. federal aid gone in an instant. Then you have to consider the complexities of working with your neighbor, the United States, on issues like trade, transportation, jobs, etc.

And you better believe Trump's not going to go easy on them.

My favorite line of the measure is this: "Requires Governor to request California admission to the United Nations if voters approve independence." Lol, okay! The state will immediately request the United Nations to help them out. Because, you know, that organization is just so good at respecting American wishes and needs!

The only state that tried to stand on its own was Texas, which in 1836 separated from Mexico and tried to be its own republic (hence the term "Lone Star State"). It was so terrible, due to large-scale debt, a poor economy and inadequate defenses, that by 1845 they joined the United States. However today Texas is the only state that can conceivably survive leaving the country, with its large deposits of oil and independent power grid.

This move to cede California from the United States reminds me a lot of Madalyn Murray O'Hair's efforts to eradicate God from our society. A small group of very radical individuals trying to impose its will on millions of Americans. O'Hair's society of atheists exploited the tumultuous era of the 60's to get God out of our schools, despite the strong Christian heritage of the United States (come on, try to counter that claim, I DARE you).

She was successful, and our nation has suffered tremendously since them. Although, it didn't end well for O'Hair and her family.

Today we are no longer being tyrannized by a loud minority. The election of Donald Trump proves that conservatives and simply non-liberals are taking their country back from globalists and elitists. We, the silent majority, are silent no longer.

My guess is that Marinelli's bizarre, nefarious scheme will end in utter failure.

If not, well then I'm all for watching the fireworks.
